OIL PAINTS

Old Holland Oil paints have a reputation for being the absolute highest quality, grinding the paint on stone wheels in cold-pressed linseed oil. Old Holland has been making artists paints since the 17th century, and were used by many of the Dutch Masters, including Van Gogh, and Vermeer! However, the most important fact about Old Holland Paints is their pigment concentration. Because of this, their paint goes much farther and their colors are richer. Almost every tube we stock of Old Holland is a single pure pigment. With single pure pigments, you can mix the more exotic colors exactly as you want them, and save a good deal of money as well. We stock no pigments with lead, cobalt, or cadmium. However, the Old Holland tubes are made with lead coated with pewter. The tubes should be disposed of accordingly.
