In this community-based project, people in Hong Kong are learning the importance of participation in various cultural art forms drawn from their own social traditions. The project is called "In Situ!", and as one of the organizers notes, "My university teachers taught us to pursue spirituality and philosophy through art; nowadays, it seems art has become an economic or political tool. It has become a response to the outside world. There seem to be fewer artists who aim to reflect the internal spiritual world through art". The project aims to counter the de-humanizing effect of factory work.
